The retirement pension is a form of income, which starts after you have reached and surpassed your retirement age, and once you have worked for long enough. Both of these need to be met in order to receive your pension. 

In Europe, people are healthier and healthier and are living for longer and longer - however, there is still a significant difference between the lifespan of men and women - east and west, rich and poor - determined the WHO (World Health Organisation) in a report on health in Europe.

According to recent statistics (KSH, 2012), in the EU, men are expected to live for 77.5 years, whilst women for 83.1 years.

According the the WHO's data, 50% of deaths are caused by cardiovascular diseases, and another 20% are caused by cancerous tumors.

The biggest risk-factors, have become smoking and the consumption of alcohol: according to the WHO, of all deaths, 6.5% were caused by alcohol, and 27% of the adult population smokes. Based on research, on average, smoking reduces life expectancy by 10 years. A new risk-factor is that there are increasing numbers of people living in cities: in 2010, according to WHO, this was 70% of europeans. This trend will continue to grow in the coming years - and so, by 2045 it is possible that 80% of the poupulation will be living in an urban area.       

Often, people try to convert animals' expectancies into human years, unfortunately however, this can not be done with a linear calcualation. And so a special calculation is needed for both the calculation of a dog's and a cat's lifespan.
